Qualifications

At TheraDance, we are dedicated to empowering individuals of all ages through dance-based occupational therapy. By integrating therapeutic principles with the expressive art of movement, we help NDIS participants enhance their physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.

Our founder, Kate Reilly, is an experienced occupational therapist with a Master of Occupational Therapy Practice from Monash University. Combining her clinical knowledge with her deep understanding of dance and body conditioning, Kate creates programs that support functional goals such as mobility, coordination, self-confidence, and overall quality of life.

Kate’s journey into therapeutic dance is grounded in a lifelong passion for movement. She trained in ballet from childhood, pursuing a professional ballet career spanning Europe and Australia, including engagements with The Stuttgart Ballet, The Australian Ballet’s educational outreach program and the Vienna State Opera Ballet.

Kate also has a rich background in teaching and mentoring, having founded the Melbourne School of Classical Dance. Many of her students have progressed to esteemed ballet academies worldwide. Her postgraduate qualifications in classical ballet pedagogy and teaching underscore her dedication to education and movement.

At TheraDance, we combine these experiences to offer a unique therapeutic approach that celebrates the transformative power of dance. Whether working with children, adults, or elderly participants, we are passionate about helping individuals achieve their goals and live their fullest lives.
